The Event Manager will provide support to the Event Operations team in the New York office and help to manage high-profile events in the historic Harold Pratt House and adjoining Peterson Hall conference center.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Working closely with the Event Operations team to assist in the scheduling of CFR events through the electronic calendar.
Acting as the event planner for a variety of Council events. Partnering with event stakeholders, including facilities staff, audio visual staff, and the event lead to ensure a successful event.
Day of event planner for all types of meetings hosted at the Council, ranging from small internal meetings to large multi-day conferences.
Providing administrative support to the Event Operations team, including compiling event reports, assisting with inventory control, processing bills, ordering supplies, and other duties.
Handling routine office functions, such as maintaining the appearance of conference space and ensuring proper operation of audio visual equipment.
Work on special projects related to event management, budgeting, and facilities operations.
3+ years of related event management or hospitality experience.
Degree in hospitality, event management, communications or marketing.
High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email; database experience preferred.
As this role is designated as essential personnel, the availability to work flexible hours upon request, including early mornings, late evenings, and during periods of inclement weather is required.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and excellent time management skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment both on a team and independently.
Strong interest in meetings and events.
