•Applies professional financial and accounting concepts to independently perform analyses of moderately complex financial services such as researching discrepancies and tax implications and compliance with external regulations and internal policies. •Supports Berkeley Law's Finance team by gathering data and providing reports related to historical transactions. •Assists with the production and dissemination of standardized monthly financial reports to unit managers. •Answers requests for purchasing and revenue data from Berkeley Law customers and the Finance team. •Reviews Faculty Budget data for confirmation of fund availability upon request. Assists with other analysis projects upon request. •Under general supervision, researches and gathers information from a variety of sources; prepares and summarize information and reports relative to new services, regulatory compliance issues and/or vendor selection and support activities. •Prepares reports and analyses to include summaries of financial transactions, evaluation of current and proposed services, etc., for management review and decision-making. •Assists with ensuring that financial processing functions which may include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashiering and Collections are performed with accuracy and that daily operations run smoothly. •Functions as a resource to support staff on issues such as researching complex financial discrepancies, escalated customer service problems and vendor concerns. •Acts as a primary contact and source of business transactional support for Berkeley Law customers. Provides advice, answers questions, and researches issues with main campus contacts to swiftly resolve emergent situations. •Monitors group Business Services emails and responds to inquiries quickly. Assists staff with transactions on a general basis. Provides training and instruction for specific transactions when required. Executes transactions to support Berkeley Law customers when appropriate. •May act as team leader for support staff. Train staff and create effective teamwork environment. •Provides advice and training for Berkeley Law customers on the process of purchasing ground and air transportation. Maintains and transmits policy knowledge when questions arrive. Can assist with the booking of ground and air transportation when necessary. •Assesses and recommends changes to maintain compliance with federal and state requirements and internal financial/audit policies. Participates in audits of internal records and processes and prepares recommendations for changes as needed. •Maintains Berkeley Law's Signature Authority table. Coordinates the transmission of data to Accounts Payable and Campus Shared Services when changes happen. Acts as a backup authority for Faculty and Research Budget signatures. •Reviews, processes, and approves standardized financial data and transactions. •Acts as a Requisition Approver for the Law School. Acts as the primary approver for Faculty Budget payment requests submitted in BearBuy. Maintains up-to-date policy knowledge re: all purchasing policies relevant to BearBuy transactions. •Coordinates the payment of various Berkeley Law Relationship accounts. Maintains a record of outstanding invoices and works with front-line staff to pay them. Acts as a primary contact with our Relationship account vendors. •Monitors the delivery of quality customer service to various constituencies to include internal department clients and external vendors. •Holds a bluCard and Event Planner Card delegation and uses these cards to purchase goods and services when Campus Shared Services cannot more efficiently do so. •Maintains knowledge of current UC credit card purchasing policies. Maintains records of purchases in BearBuy. Responds to audit requests.•Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures including budgeting, revenue, forecasting, and cash flow operations. •Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive information. •Knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. •Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications. •Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision-making. •Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff. Experience leading and influencing student managers in the conduct of business activities in their units helpful. •Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
