The General Manager is responsible for all on-going operations at Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium as well as final contract agreement authorization for all events.
Essential Job Duties •Approves all contracts and settlements for Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium, including those negotiated by the Assistant General Manager or booking team. •Creates, updates, and executes policies and procedures for staff, contractors, and vendors. •Manages operations, engineering, and housekeeping for Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium to ensure facility is fully-operational. •Solicits, books, contracts and/or buys and promotes a complete schedule of events for both the Coliseum and Theater, through the establishment of positive relationships with agents and artist management, promoters, event producers, event presenters, businesses, organizations, meeting planners. •Coordinate with marketing on promotions and building branding •Participates and fills an active role in local projects and organizations to help promote Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium. •Coordinate with Finance on execution of all financial and operating reports, including, but not limited to, annual operating budget, capital expenses, operating revenue, expense budgets, event P&L’s. •Develop and execute both short-term tactics and long-term strategy for Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium. •Conduct regular staff meetings and provide open communication to the team at all levels •Maintain high level pf customer service and customer service improvement plan •Manage and maintain a highly engaged staff •Evaluates progress made against proposed action items and provides leadership in attaining facility goals. •Establishes and maintains active contact and an effective working relationship with the, professional sports tenants, government departments and agencies, live entertainment industry representatives, rights holders, event organizers, national governing bodies of sport, community and civic organizations, as well as, union representatives (where applicable) to encourage continual and regular use of the facilities. •Negotiates and secures commercial rights sponsorships or approves 3rd party sales of permanent inventory. •Coordinates with the food and beverage concessions and catering services department at the facility. •Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining and operating the complex. •Codes incoming invoices and credit card reconciliation for payment. •Serve on CRVA Safety committee •Creates invoices for past events to be distributed to client. •May perform other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility •This job is responsible for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review. •This job will have periodic access to confidential data including wages and salaries, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
Supervisory Responsibility •Manages four direct reports •Manages up to eleven supervisors who supervise up to 300 event employees at Bojangles’ Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium. •Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of both venues s. •Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Basic understanding of technical sound and lighting systems, rigging and staging
Strong knowledge of safety, building and fire code regulations and standards and any other applicable regulations
Ability to work in high pressure; time sensitive situations typical of the sports and event industry
