![]() Outreach Events Planner Stanford University Job Code: 4883 Grade: G Exemption: Exempt INTRODUCTION: The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) is Stanford's thought leader for understanding the economic challenges, opportunities, and policies affecting people around the world. For over 30 years, SIEPR's mission has been to support research that informs economic policymaking while engaging future leaders and scholars. At its core is SIEPR's facultyover 100 faculty members who represent all seven schools at Stanford. With SIEPR support, they study a vast array of economic policy-relevant areas in the U.S. and around the world, collaborating with other established and up-and-coming researchers from within and outside Stanford. SIEPR's vibrant community of scholars shares knowledge and builds relationships among academics, government officials, the business community and the public. SIEPR's reach goes well beyond research support as it seeks to educate and energize a broad, diverse community of policymakers and influencers, including academics, students, business leaders, the media, and the public, about the most important economic issues. It does this by connecting the research to policy areas and disseminating it to policymakers and influencers; providing state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure; delivering cutting-edge thought leadership; and deepening relationships among various stakeholders by hosting frequent conferences and gatherings. SIEPR's vision is to raise living standards and improve quality of life by making economic policy more effective at all levels. Building on its strong foundation of 35 years and leveraging Stanford's long-range planning process, SIEPR intends to strengthen and amplify its impact over the next five years and beyond in its mission to: 1) support research that informs economic policymaking, 2) engage future leaders and scholars, and 3) share knowledge and build relationships among academics, students, policymakers, the business community, the media, and the public. JOB PURPOSE: The Outreach Events Planner joins SIEPR at an important time in its 35+ year history to lead the effort towards being a purpose-driven, operations-oriented, sustainable and forward-looking organization that delivers consistent, excellent service to SIEPR's various stakeholders within well-communicated parameters. Reporting to the Director of Outreach and Special Projects, the Outreach Events Planner will work as part of a team to ensure all seminars, conferences and meetings are executed successfully. This position will require attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills to enhance and build on relationships with various stakeholders. One of SIEPR's strategic objectives is to develop a broad and diverse ecosystem to amplify impact and thought leadership around economic policy, and outreach events help serve this purpose. Outreach events would primarily be academic- and ecosystem-engagement focused, but not solely limited to those events. The Outreach Events Planner would work collaboratively to:
