Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for an Events Planner. This position reports to the Guest Services Manager and will be responsible for coordinating all private rental events including weddings at the Gardens.Â Rental service is the third largest resource from the Gardensâ earned income. This position will be the main point of contact with all potential and actual rental clients and will be responsible for meeting with the clients, determining clientâs needs, initiating contracts, processing of rental deposits and fees and other services needed to ascertain customer satisfaction.Â Â This position will also be responsible for coordinating space availability, ensuring that all contracts are signed, appropriate caterers and licensing are obtained.Â This position will be responsible for maintaining the rental client database and monitoring revenue from private events.Â This position may also help coordinate catering for staff events, adult tours and other non-rental meals. This position will work closely with the Central Iowa Tourism Region and other travel and leisure market shows to promote Reiman Gardens Private Rentals and Guided Tours.Â The incumbent must have the ability to work both independently and in team environment. Must be detailed-oriented, creative and possess the ability to manage multiple, ongoing tasks.Â This person must be self-motivated with strong written and oral communication skills, have the ability to work in a professional and confidential manner and must be able to work some weekends, holidays and evenings.
