The Michigan Optometric Association (MOA) https://themoa.org/ advocates and educates Michigan optometrists in support of quality vision care for their patients and the public. We are looking for an outgoing, creative, friendly and team-oriented addition to our organization. The Office Manager and Member Liaison is responsible for member support activities of the MOA and will collaborate closely with MOA's Executive Director and staff, committee volunteers, MOA's Board, regional optometric societies, and other partners to support the activities of the association’s daily operations.
This full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm position entails the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Help members find answers to questions, and assist in servicing their needs
Implement member surveys and coordinate the analysis of them
Engage student and young professional interaction
Communicate member benefit programs and support participation in them
Serve as the liaison in outreach to optometry students and professional groups
Support benefit program implementation and special membership-related events
Support MOA meeting planner with one virtual and two in-person events
Assistance with membership dues billing
Small event planning and coordination
Assist with updates to annual meeting documents and event preparation
Serve as committee liaison, as needed
Assist communications team with member outreach and website maintenance
Additional office and operational support
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred or comparable in experience
Be a self-starter and detail-oriented
Strong organizational skills
Experience with professional outreach, sales, or customer relations
Association experience preferred
Service-oriented with great problem solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-functioning small office team
Prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, and function within a fast-paced environment with internal and external stakeholders
Results-driven, and committed to both advancing organization and team goals, as well as your individual professional development.
Small event coordination experience is a plus
Experience with MS Office applications, online survey software, project planning software, and database management and reporting tools.
