Facilities Technician
Maryvale Preparatory School, a Catholic college preparatory school for young women in grades 6-12, is seeking a Facilities Technician. This position is a full-time, 12-month position with occasional weekend and additional hours required. Hours needed are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. This is a non-exempt position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), life insurance, paid vacation, holidays and more. This position will report directly to the Director of Plant Operations.
Position Summary:
Performs general maintenance and minor repairs for the campus including, but not limited to, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, buildings, office furniture and other equipment. Assists in ensuring a clean, safe, attractive and secure campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors by performing general custodial duties, following safety standards and procedures, assisting with traffic and parking needs, securing the buildings and grounds and assessing and correcting unclean or unsafe environments.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform building maintenance, preventive maintenance and perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
Ability to monitor and manipulate HVAC Control systems seasonally
Inspect the facility to ensure its adherence to safety, sanitary and security standards.
Inform Director of Plant Operations of custodial and mechanical-related needs of the campus.
Contribute to a safe educational and working environment by participating in all drills and training and being prepared to take action should a health or safety emergency occur.
Ensure doors and windows are secure. Open and lock-up campus gates and doors, as needed. Secure facilities after operation hours.
Perform minor repairs of office and classroom furniture and related items.
Contribute in the performance of all general building maintenance such as painting, repairs to flooring, walls, etc. and upkeep of kitchen equipment.
General plumbing repairs, electrical and carpentry duties.
Under supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, work with school administrators, faculty, staff and event planners to prepare for special activities and events.
Assist in the move of furniture and equipment, including set-ups and break-downs for activities and internal and external events.
Unload deliveries to the school. Transport items to storage areas. Distribute packages.
Hang banners and signs.
Actively participate in snow and ice removal activities.
Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests.
Assist in crowd and traffic control and parking for school and other events.
May assist in the lining/chalking of natural grass athletic fields.
May be required to drive the school bus for events. Help in cleaning and maintaining plant assets.
May assist with the general maintenance of school-owned vehicles, such as gassing vehicles and transporting for service and repairs and state inspections.
In the absence of porters/general housekeeping staff, may be required to empty trash cans, mops floors, clean up the cafeteria after lunch shifts, clean bathrooms, dust mop hallways, clean and polish desks, chairs, tables, cabinets and office and classroom equipment and ensure bathrooms and locker rooms are stocked with supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

3-years general maintenance experience required; 5-years experience preferred
