The Department of Development and Alumni/ae Affairs (ODAA) seeks a Development Services CRM specialist. The CRM Specialist will be trained in how to configure and customize all aspects of the new Slate CRM (customer relationship management) system that manages information for the College's network of fund raisers and event planners. Reporting to the Director of Development Services, the CRM Specialist will share responsibilities for supporting this critical system and ensuring the quality and availability of its data. This position presents the right candidate with an excellent opportunity to grow skills in system administration, data management and analytics while learning about the business of non-profit fundraising.
Essential Duties
Configure the Slate CRM to support Development business processes
Create and manage accounts and access for CRM users
Maintain data accuracy on behalf of ODAA in accordance with data entry policy and procedures
Train and assist staff throughout Bard in use of the CRM
Understand system interfaces for gift entry, fund creation, gift restrictions and audit reporting
Create and run reports and data extracts for ODAA team members and other campus units
Help with the production of targeted mailing lists for communications, appeal solicitations, invitations, and events as requested
Author and maintain procedural documentation related to use of the CRM
Comply with all IRS, FASB, and NYPMIFA regulations related to development activities
Required to work during peak processing periods, specifically, mid-December through mid-January, and mid-June through mid-July
Required to assist with campus wide events, such as Commencement /Reunion Weekend, Arrival Day, and Family Weekend and other events as needed
Basic understanding of spreadsheet data management (e.g. sort, filter, vlookup, pivot tables, etc. in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets)
Ability to prioritize and attend to multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Superior attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Evidence of strong problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Integrity in handling sensitive or confidential information

Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
Additional Desirable Skills
Bachelor's degree
Experience working with any CRM (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, etc.)
Knowledge of fundraising principles and practice, particularly in a college or university setting
Familiarity with with web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
Specific familiarity with Technolutions' Slate CRM
Experience with a reporting tool of any kind
Exposure to any data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R, SaS, etc.)
