POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for creating, facilitating, managing, and tracking systems and processes related to Membership and Meeting team activities. The Project Manager will perform many complex technical, management, financial and administrative tasks. The Project Manager must demonstrate a strong background in project management, administrative, and financial management principles and practices. The Project Manager will work with various stakeholders, both within and external to NACCHO, including other NACCHO staff, NACCHO members, and external consultants, vendors, and meeting planners.
The Project Manager will report to a Director or Senior Director. Work at this level requires substantial knowledge in the designated area, with both conceptual understanding and sufficient professional experience to work on complex assignments with minimal supervision.

The selected candidate must reside in the Washington, DC – Maryland – Virginia (DMV) area within 30 calendar days of their start date.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Project Manager will support overall project administration and direction and implement new systems and processes as needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of NACCHO’s meetings and membership functions.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES
Establish and maintain procedures and systems to ensure efficient implementation of Membership and Meeting activities, including processes around RFP development, contractor selection, contract development; membership renewals, affinity partner benefits and programs; meeting planning and sequencing; and reconciliation of meeting expenses.
Develop and Monitor project plans related to key activities and take appropriate action if actual performance deviates from plan.
Liaise with NACCHO’s contracts, finance, and accounting departments to develop project management policies and procedures and clarify roles and responsibilities.
Oversee complete contract and contract modification submissions on behalf of the Membership and Meetings team and ensure timely submission of related invoices.
Develop resources and trainings for NACCHO staff as needed to support their interactions with the Membership and Meetings functions.
Support budget management, forecasting and tracking as requested.
Support the strategic planning of the Membership and Meetings team.
Participate in organization-wide process redesign activities as requested.
Collaborate with other NACCHO project managers to ensure alignment of NACCHO policies and procedures across the organizations.
Represent NACCHO at external meetings related to their designated area of work.
Assist the Director/ Senior Director in other matters as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and certification in relevant professional field with a minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience; or Master’s degree or certification in relevant professional field with a minimum of 4-5 years relevant work experience; or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred but not required or equivalent combination of education and experience, including a relevant certification.
Knowledge of project management practices;
Knowledge of and interest in public health issues and policies at the local, state, and/or federal level, preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word and Excel, and familiarity with project management applications
Knowledge of association or membership organization environments preferred
Intermediate program evaluation skills; strong organizational skills; excellent writing skills; excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills; excellent analytical skills; strong attention to detail
Ability and experience to create tools and resources for project management, such as processes, protocols, and procedures or templates and guidance documents.

Ability to translate information from other departments (grants, contracts, finance, etc.) and produce standardized and uniform products for program managers to ensure consistent implementation of processes.
