CFC has a need for a Senior Meeting and Events Planner to join the Events and Training team. The Senior Meeting and Events Planner leads the planning and logistics of organization meetings and special events. This position is responsible for monitoring event budgets and ensuring that project milestones/goals are met.
As a Senior Meeting and Events Planner, you will: • Liaise with executive level management, board of directors, internal and external members to understand needs and strategy for events and meetings throughout the fiscal year. • Provide corporate meeting and event planning to ensure that all facilities and logistical plans are executed in a high quality and efficient manner. • Partner with internal staff, clients, vendors, and others to establish event scope and deliverables for events, and serve as liaison to senior level executives, and industry leaders throughout the planning process. • Negotiate and manages contracts with external parties and maintains strong working relationships with other national cooperative organizations • Stay current, and often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, and production trends, proactively identifying and solving operational challenges • Monitor on-site meeting and event details to ensure HQ events are receiving a high level of customer service and excellence. • Manage the processing and reconciliation of the meeting and events budget. • Make recommendations for process improvement opportunities within the Events team.
To be successful in this role you will need: •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience. •5 years of increasing responsibility handling various aspects of membership or corporate meetings. •Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. •Mass E-Mail, Survey, Registration, Mobile App and Salesforce experience preferred. •Advanced knowledge of meetings and events planning in large scale as well as smaller/internal venues. •Advanced contract and supplier negotiation skills. Strong Food & Beverage knowledge with ability to read audience needs and improvise as necessary. •Advanced verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management of vendors and partner organizations •Proven ability to implement budgets and comprehensive work plans. •Proficient with Registration (Cvent specifically) and membership database Systems, Salesforce, MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word specifically. •Proven detail orientation with strong organizational skills. •Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
