Position Summary
The Assistant University Registrar is responsible for managing the delivery of SIS support services to students, faculty and staff within the Washington University community.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Management
- Hires, trains and manages several non-exempt staff members primarily delivering services in transcript/verification services, Veteransâ™ benefits, graduation services, student records updates and general inquiries.
- Develops and coordinates delivery of training to administrative users of the Student Information System.
Graduation Services
- Monitors Intent to Graduate student submissions and process; ensure data quality and coordinate with partners to review and approve degree candidates.
- Manages degree conferral process.
- Manages relationship with diploma vendor, including invoices, diploma orders and quality assurance.
- Coordinates with Commencement and school event planners for diploma distribution.
Student Records Services
- Oversees transcript request fulfillment, including managing relationship with vendor, monitoring upgrades, continuity of service, and efficient processes within the Office of the University Registrar.
- Serves as backup certifying official for VA benefits.
- Manages processes by which student records are updated, including requests to correct/change studentsâ™ bio/demo data and maintenance of exchange program participantsâ™ records.
- Oversees response to verification requests, including via the National Student Clearinghouse and individual student inquiries.
Financial Oversight
- Together with Associate University Registrar, manage financial transactions as required to support diploma orders/replacement diploma requests, official transcripts, VA administrative allowances.
Other Standards and Expectations
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory/training experience highly preferred.
- College/University administration experience preferred.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree and three years of related experience.

Salary Range
$49,000.00 - $83,800.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
