The Department of Economics in the School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine seeks a highly organized, flexible, and adaptable self-starter to provide analytical support and customer service to the Manager, Chair, faculty, students, researchers, programs, and initiatives. The Economics Department is composed of 32 senate faculty, approximately 8 non-senate lecturers and 100 PhD students per quarter. As Analyst of this highly productive and influential department, responsibilities include but are not limited to: financial administration to include reimbursements, purchases, stipends; contract and grant proposal preparation and submission; primary administrator for the graduate program to include functions such as graduate admissions and graduate program/degree management; primary event planner and coordinator for the department; seminar series coordinator; academic personnel administration of hires, merits and promotions, and visas; employment and salary administration; departmental website maintenance; customer service pertaining to daily administrative operations for faculty, staff, students and visitors in the Department of Economics. This position is eligible for hybrid/remote work.

$30.44 - $35.64 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $30.44 - $48.86 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
1-3 years of applicable experience working for an organization or in an academic environment.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and diplomatically with all levels of staff verbally and in writing. Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Experience analyzing and organizing complex information and the proven ability to produce clear, comprehensive and complete reports based on that analysis. Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking.
